This week for our Summer learning Journey we did art. I found that it was fun to colour and it was easier than colouring on a sheet. I think that I did a better job at colouring in the picture that the original one.

Last week We had pet day it was really fun. Our class made cakes and habatats for animals that we had picked. Our animals were not real animals we had to make them up with cards we got. Our cards told us what our animal liked, disliked and where it liked to live. There were lots of animals there I brought my guinea pigs and they hid in the back of there cage becaus ethey didn't like being there. Mum and Michaela had to go to lindas because Michaela did somethig to herself and they had to go and get the guinea pigs water. I had to look after the guinea pigs when the judging was happining. When we went in a parade My guinea pigs cage was heavy so I had some help. Zara and Emma helped me carry My Guinea pig.

This week in reading we have been working on Holes , we read it every day after break. I found the work a bit challenging because we had to remember what we had read. We were allowed to listen to the story again if we were struggling but I didn't need to. I found making the workbook easy because I have already made some of the slides so that I don't need to waste my time and make them. We have to awnser questions and use a dictonary to find out what some words mean. at the moment we are working on writing a letter,describe a dream and write a non chronological report about fossils.

Today I am going to tell you more about how to make a Comic step by step. The website is called Pixton.
Firstly you need to log in and make a person. If you do it with your class then you can use any of your class mates to do it with. when you see charecters you can click my class if you are doing it with your class and underneath the people there are peoples names of who made the person. You will also get to see a class photo I put my class photo on Comic making 1. You can find the class photo when you log in you will be in your comics but up the top there is a button that says class photo.
Secondly you choose a backround our you can keep in white. then you get the people you want to use and start making your Comic. There will be more panels as you go and you can pick a different backround. When you click on a nother panel it will come up with the backround you were origanily using but it will let you change it if you want. it will also keep the people that you origanaly had in the first panel. You ca make as many panels as you like with all the different things that are on the website.
Thirdly you can pick out of lots of different expressions so that the person can have a different expression each time you have a different panel.There are lots of different things you can pick out of. They are the things on the bar at the top of the comic.The things that are there are Backrounds,Characters,Focuses,Words,Faces and Action. You will only get action when you click on a charecter. When you think you are done you need to go to the pink square at the top of the bar on the right that says done once you have clicked it it will make all the panels you made into a comic then you click on the comic you made and it will take you to your comic and you can share it at the end.

This week Some of our class made comics on a website called pixton. it is fun to make comics on. When we gat a character we can get anyone from our class and change there outfit. You can also getdifferent poses in your comic. You get to choose where you people are and I made one with Zara. We were at our house and then we descided we wanted to make a club. We added a diferent backround when we were at the club. It was a club about animals. At the end we all shered our comics on the Tv so people could see what we had done in two days. Our teacher that showed us how to make a pixton showed us what we looked like as a group because once you have signed in and have created and dressed your person there was a picture of your person in the class photo. there are lots of different themes that you can put your class in when you are in the photo.

Last week my class went on a farm trip and my grand parents came with us it was very tiring. We went for a big walk. We ate lunch by the waimak River. Some of us ate our lunch on Rocks. There were two men who were showing us around the farm. There names were Greg and Mark. After lunch we got a ride in A trailer and I almost fell on top of Riley and Ruby. There was a dog that followed us the whole time we were there.

Today I am going to show you what Media is. I made google slides about Media. I think that Media is a website on your chromebook. I choose to do Television, shop fronts and signs. They are things that I have seen in the last 24 hours. I have seen signs on the side on the road. I have seen A television in the lounge because I watch youtube every morning. I have seen a shop front in front of the dairy.

Today I made a DLO About A Simile, Metaphor and Personification in Writing. We are working on Moment in time. Did you know that a Metaphor is a fake simile, A simile is a describing word and personification is an Object. The DLO took me two days to make. I choose to use google slides. My challenge was when I had to think of what they all were. I am proud of this because I worked really hard.

Today I have been working on a diagram for reading we are working on geysers. Geysers are explosions for when there is to much water under ground that it all gets to tight and it all comes out. The geysers can get to 50-60 metres tall. If they are really tall and hot then they are dangerous and you can,t go near them. People used to put buckets under the cold geysers and that was how they had to drink.

In my reading this year I think that I have been getting better and better. At the start of the year I was worried that I were going to be bad at reading. But I am not and now it is my favourite subject out of all the subjects in school. I am happy about that. Today I have made a google slide about my reading. On my slide I have put books to reppresent that I have chosen reading and not other subjects. I am proud of my reading because I feel like I have been doing A good job.The Books that I like are the Baby Sitters club pony pals and dork diaries.

This week Erica and I did a trick in the playground it took us one day to practise I had to slow down because Erica couldent catch up to me. She tried her best but she was stilll learning how to do tricks on the equitment. We got Lucy to video us and there was a photo of us that she had taken and I didn't know until I looked at the video's that our class had made at breaktime. The folder was called playground Routines. We got the idea of making it from seeing other kids making videos for their blogs so we made one and did as much as we could.

Today we went to go and see harold the giraffe we learnt about our life education. There are lots of parts in our brain. did you know that if you put both of your wristes together than it will make the size of your brain? Some people think that your brain looks wierd. Your hair is there to protect your brain and if you smach it really hard it might stop working. We played a game and there are lots of different actions and if you do the same action than kari our were to slow than you had to sit down because you had lost. At the end harold told us two jokes. The first joke was how do you get Pikachu into a bus? Pokemon. The second joke was what do you call a bee in a graveyard? Zombie. It was really cool.

Today I have been reading the baby sitters club book two and four and they are really cool I put them on hold at the library. The book I put on hold from the library are book two,four,five,six and seven because I have not read them before.if you dont know about them then you should try looking for them in the shops our the library because they are really good books and I think that you will love them.

About Book Two: You find out about Stacy's diabetes and she makes friends with Lena again and New York City. She can't have any sweets or anything with sugar in it and she has to go to the doctors to find out and they told her that she had diabetes. Then she told the baby-sitters club when she moved to Stony Brook
Book Four front cover name:Claudia and mean Janine
About Book Four: The book tells you about Claudia's life and how she has to take a test at the end of Winter. They're going into summer break and they make a preschool club for the little children for the parents have to go to work. So they have somewhere to go in the morning and they do it three times a week and Claudia got to do her the test and she only got half of it done so she said that she would be in big trouble with her mum and dad.

Then there was a little girl who checked the price tag but if the little girl wasn't there then we wouldn't have known how much it was and she might not have gotten into so much trouble.

Yesterday we did our speeches I was very nervios to do it but Now that I have done it I am proud of myself. I didnt want to do it becauseI dont like to speek infront of lots of peole. last year I was very excited to do my speech and I got into the finals and came second but this year I were veryt nervous and I dont think I will make it into the finals.but if I dont then I dont mind because it was scary but if I have to do it then I will because it feels good to be in the finals.
When I do my speech I feel very nervious This year I wasn't as scared because there werent as many people but I had to take a lot out of it because it was to long it was only supposed to be one minute to 1one minute therty but it was four minutes and twentey two seconds

In cybersmart we have been working on using book creator. In book creator you can do lots of fun things and you can get a picture to anything you want but it takes a long time to draw depending on what you do. If you like you can also get a picture from the internet.

Last week we made sherbet and it was very yummy. I thought it would not taste very good. We added 1/2 a teaspoon of citric acid,1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda,1/2 a teaspoon of jelly crystals and 12 a cup of icing sugar and it made sherbet. The things I didnt like was the baking soda and the citric acid it was disgusting and the the things I did like was the jelly crystals and the icing sugar it was yummy.
Icing sugar was my favourite one.
Baking soda was my worst one.
Have you ever tried any of these?
Today we made our speech into a book creator.
I liked it because it was fun making our speeches into a book.

This week in math we have been learning about fractions. Today I found it very challenging because we were finding fractions of amounts. when I knew what to do it was easy.
I learnt how to solve lots of fractions I had to use my white board to do it.
The part I found hard was when we had to put all of the numbers together to make a fraction.

I know how to get pictures onto book creator and get cool backrounds. I also know how to get a specker so you can talk on it. You can also colour the text and the backround that the text is in. you can also get stickers you can write what ones you want and you can get ones that it shows you.
